For those of you who don’t know me, I am Dawn Coombe and I live in Essex.
Writing has always been a passion of mine, ever since I was a little girl, and in 2015 I realised a life-long dream when I wrote and self-published my first novel.
I have always had an interest in literature, studying it at A Level at college, and wishing that I had taken it further and studied it at degree level. I always had a book on the go, sometimes two or three at once, and reading literature progressed to me wanting to write it. I did not know if I would be any good at it but my philosophy is that you never know until you try!
I always had a pen in my hand when I was younger (no computers back then!) until I saved up my pocket money and brought myself an electric typewriter and then, for me, the sky was the limit.
My writing took a back seat for a number of years while I got married and had children, but in the early 2010’s my mental health took a turn for the worse and I discovered that writing helped me to clear the black clouds, and so I wrote more and more.
My first novel was more a therapeutic project for me than a writing one, but, nonetheless, it is one that I am very proud of, and one that helped me to get through those dark days.
I have always had a fascination about Victorian times, Bram Stoker’s Dracula being one of my favourite novels and the dark and gothic nature of those times is always an inspiration to me, so much so that my second book was partly set in those times and my third, which is currently still a work in progress, is wholly set there.
Thankyou for visiting my site and taking this wonderful journey with me.
