As some of you know, not only do I write novels and short stories, but I also write music reviews.

I thought it was about time that I included all my music reviews on my writing page too!

So, the new “Music Reviews” is the page all of my old reviews, as well any new ones that I do now and in the future, will be posted. You never know, you might just find your next favourite band, album or song in amongst them!

Have you ever got to a certain age, looked back at the years, and thought to yourself, what have I actually done in my life? Are you convinced that it has been a total waste of time and that nothing particularly spectacular has ever happened to you? Do you think that other people’s lives always seem so much more exciting, so much more fulfilling? Do you feel you have just plodded through the years and now, here you are, aged 40 something with nothing to show for it!

Well, stop! No-one’s life means more than anyone else’s, just because they might have made a lot of money, or they had become a famous film star or football player. A life without wealth and fame or fortune is not one squandered, a life living humbly is not worthless.

Actually, stop and think about the things you have done in your life, the sights you have seen and the feelings you have felt. They are unique to you; no-one can ever take all that away from you. And so what if you didn’t play for Manchester Utd in the FA cup final or haven’t taken a walk down the catwalks in Milan. What you have done in your life is what has made you the person you are NOW.

I thought pretty much all of the above until, one day recently, I told myself that I wasn’t going to belittle me anymore. I sat down and I listed all of the major events in my life, the big things that had mattered to me, or had affected me, and I realised that my life had been far from ordinary, not in the least mundane.

I am not going to tell you the story of my life so far, but I hope together we can embark on a journey, one of self-realisation, self-love and compassion.

So, a few days ago I posted about a new project that was mulling around in my head. I have now just decided to go for it, and, well, if it doesn’t work out, I haven’t lost anything.

Here it is! I will write and publish, on a monthly basis, my own penny dreadful gothic short stories. I still need to work out how they will be published but I am so excited about getting this project off the ground.
